Focusing benefits from the same type of pro-level technology, providing smooth, quiet operation that is also responsive. The length of the lens remains constant while zooming or focusing. Zoom reversing is available after software update.
• Continuously variable zoom speed control : Fingertip control of zoom speed via the zoom lever on the lens barrel or the zoom ring makes it possible to zoom smoothly while maintaining a sure, steady grip on the camera. This can be a significant advantage for consistent, stable handling, especially when shooting movies.
• Constant F4 maximum aperture : A constant F4 aperture across the entire 18–105mm range means you can zoom and reframe as necessary without having to think about changing exposure settings.
